Welcome to Lydia house international - A safe space in Liberia to help women realize their God-given potential

what we do

After visiting community ministries and churches throughout the world, we have met many local leaders with self-sacrificial hearts and a deep desire to serve their communities.  They are doing what they can, often giving up their own comforts, to alleviate the suffering around them.  There is no shortage of passion for change.  But these leaders often lack the provisions to meet even the basic needs of those they serve:  schools in which half the children must go without a meal each day; communities that battle human trafficking and domestic violence, but have no place of refuge to offer the endangered; networks of pastors who can hardly afford to feed their families, even while working full-time jobs in addition to their ministries.

Lydia House International was formed in response to these financial and material needs.  We seek to develop partnerships with local leaders who have an established history of effective community ministry, so that we may support and enable them to do their work.  Our aim is to offer funding and practical assistance for projects that can ultimately become self-sustainable so that our partners will not need to rely on us to continue their good work.  Rather, we hope that through our strategic support, God would raise them up and seat them with princes, empowering them to stand on their own.

SPEAK OUT

Speak out for those who cannot speak, for the rights of all the destitute. Speak out, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.

- Proverbs 31:8-9

RISE UP

He raises the poor from the dust, and lifts the needy from the ash heap, to make them sit with princes, with the princes of his people.

- Psalm 113:7-8

LEAD ON

Your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; You shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to live in.

-Isaiah 58:12
